It's funny this start seems to have Canuck posters everywhere energized. There are postings on all the Buzz Blogs .... but in true form mixed opinions as to if this team is good or just lucky.
There are a lot of unproven and unknowns but the biggest factor for any team is health to key players. Any team with injuries will struggle. And the Canucks do have a talented yet unproven player out of the line up in Rodin and had Miller injured enough last game that he couldn't back up so they have had a bit of a test and are still rolling which shows some better depth.
This team has something to prove that they are not write off and can compete so how far this goes is anyone's guess.... that's why they play the games |

If Nucks bring up Bachman, do they have to send someone down? Utica may be a good environment for the guys, but we really need to have our farm team closer. Awesome game. 1040 had that idiot from USA today who pegged the Canucks to finish with 65 points. He sounded like Trump, holy excuses and just admit you were wrong dude. |

Thanks Carol.....awesome article.
The fans finishing the Americain, and performing the Canadian anthem was great (and classy)
With all the political talk, little things like that make me proud to be Canadian.
Edit : seeing Matthew Hewitt sing along too........awesome |

If the Canucks put Miller on IR, they'd be able to recall Bachman without making another move. But they'd have to send someone down if they wanted to keep all three goalies available.

It's a problem but they made a commitment to Utica contract wise etc. plus they seem to like the less travel days and more development by practice being out there.... I don't know ... it's not like they are a junior club needing lots of practice time they need game type situations to learn so they can apply that if called up to NHL... everyone talks about getting minutes why reason to go down for a player. So you think Seattle or a lower mainland location will work...? |

So I guess it's out of the question to bring Demko up? |

i've always thought it would be good to have a team in the lower mainland.
Abbotsford? or wherever that team moved to would be my choice.
Perhaps Seattle.
I mean, i get that you want to minimize travel time and maximise practice, but Vancouver doesn't have that luxury, so, the players may as well get used to it. |

Alex Steen needs a couple of cross checks the the face. He is as dirty as they come and will never drop the gloves. |

Regarding Demko, I'd assume so. Looks like he took a shelling in his first pro game |

The farm team being closer would be a convenience not a need. Majority of the time the location of the AHL team has minor impact on calling anyone up as the injury is known in advance and the scratches will be the first fill in anyways. I would rather keep the farm team travels to bus rides than cross country flights, because once they make the NHL club they will be travelling plenty as it is |

I hadn't seen that. Ouchies. I'm sure he'll figure it out though. Maybe it'd be good for Bachman to be gone so he can play most of the games for a while |

Very true. Would have been ice to see Guddy or Dorsett send him a message. Or if JV was in the lineup he could have slammed Steens head into the boards. It took over a season for Sestito to get back at Hanzal for taking Sedin out. We need to send a meassage out right away that going after Horvat is not going to fly. |

Thanks Carol -- awesome as always. And amazingly, 3 straight to start the season, all come from behind, which the 'Nucks struggled to accomplish last year!
as Vantel said last night...57 points to go! |

Carey Price would have been shelled in that game |

Would be nice to have a decent alternative for live hockey in the Pacific Coliseum. Maybe one with a slightly less up-tight vibe to it. An AHL team would be nice but I don't see it happening. Can't bring myself to go to Tbirds games. |

Great game Canucks, that's exactly how they need to play. Yet another cheap shot against one of our young guys and nothing clobber that son of a gun if the franking refs and league don't do anything, the damn refs will call a tap on the gloves or over the glass but not cheap shots. Even my ten year old is wondering WTF. |

Will Horvat's injustice be included in your book? |
